Tick Tock.. The Clock is Ticking
Jcrew Coat, Sweater and Chambray | H&M Faux Leather Skirt | Zara Polka Dotted Tights | See by Chloe Booties | Zac Posen Bag | Aldo Bracelets | Michael Kors Watch | Ray Ban Sunglasses
Three days to go and counting .. I will be 23. I haven't taken time to plan anything for it, I have been in the "go with the flow" mood lately. I do feel a sense of pressure though, fashion week is only three weeks away! It seems that the number three is in repetition here. The good thing is I don't feel as if I am getting older but when is it too old to wear polka dotted tights though?

Tres dias y contando….voy a cumplir 23 años.

Different Perspective
Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody (Here) | Zara Faux Leather Jacket (Similar Here) & Peplum Top | Citizens of Humanity Jeans | Express Necklace | Michael Kors Watch
You know when the holidays are here when you can’t get those
Christmas songs out of your head or you stop your car at every house that’s lit
up with Christmas lights and stare as if you’ve never seen it before. (Or at
least I do.. haha) This Christmas definitely feels different to me. My
grandmother just recently recovered from her brain surgery this past month and
thankfully she is doing good. Actually she’s doing so good that she left to
Puerto Rico to spend Christmas with her sisters. It was definitely the hardest
thing I have had to deal with in a while because, well she’s my bestfriend, my
number one supporter and my inspiration. Seeing someone you love go through
something as scary and delicate as that kind of procedure really changes your
perspective in life. As I get older, I am definitely getting a sense of just
wanting to spend more time with my family rather then worrying about what gifts
to get everyone. It’s traditional in my family to get together and cook
pasteles. Pasteles are made in huge batches and usually takes about 6 people or
more depending on how much you make. If you aren’t Latin American, then you may
not know what I am talking about. I will do a separate post on this so I can
explain it all to you guys. What do you do with your family for the holidays?

Quiet before the storm : Peplum and Leather
Rebecca Minkoff 3 Zip Rocker Crossbody (Here ) | Zara Peplum Top & Heels | H&M Leather Skirt | Mandees Belt | Michael Kors Watch | Rayban Sunglasses
We took this outfit for a spin a week before Hurricane Sandy hit and unfortunately she brought disaster and tragedy along with her. My thoughts and prayers are with those families who have been affected by it. I have put together a donation drive with my family, in which we collected 25 bags of clothing to donate to those who in need. If anyone wants more information or would like to donate please email me.
Peplum is a trend I fell in love with since its popped into the fashion world last year. Its a very classic and versatile design in which you can dress it up or down. Its fun to play with those peplum pieces from spring and transition them into your fall and winter wardrobe. So when shopping for peplum make sure you get the right fit for your body. If it sits lower or higher then your waist it isn't going to look right on your body. It will either make you look too short or smushed on top. Peplum can really give you that hourglass shape so you want to make sure its framing your body correctly. They come in all shapes and sizes so I encourage you to find one that really flatters your body.
With this outfit I took a simple white peplum top and paired it with a full leather skirt, I kept the color palette neutral because it really allows the burgundy to pop. This past summer we took a visit to Cape May, whose history relies on the victorian era. This pairing really reminds me of the bell shaped dresses they wore, giving it a really vintage and romantic but whimsical feel. To make it a bit more modern, I added a crossbody with these matching ankle strapped heels. Ps. you could throw on some tights and it would be the perfect fall outfit! Enjoy, hope everyone is staying safe in NYC <3

The Highline : Leopard and Faux Leather

Awaiting my Giuseppe Zannotti's to be returned from their "doctors visit" is like waiting for this hurricane Sandy to arrive. Which, btw I am so not looking forward to. So for the time being, my new shoe obsession has turned to these babies! I think everyone needs a bit of Betsey in their lives. Her eccentric and quirky designs keep you coming back for that unique statement piece to add to your wardrobe. These booties are fierce and may I add comfortable! A little bit of fringe and adding anything Leopard print is a must for this season. The other day I found myself on a hunt for the perfect faux leather jacket for this fall and the biker jacket from Zara is exactly what I was looking for, I couldn't be happier with it. As for my shirt above, I have a small project coming up and will soon be designing my own shirts, all proceeds will be donated (all a part of that small project). Ahh, I cannot wait to share with you all. This is prototype 1, i'll be playing around with a few more ideas during the weeks ahead. I can't wait to share some of the amazing changes coming to the blog, my life, etc. Thank you all so much for reading! And definitely stay tuned.
